Private Gardens & Patio

We are incredibly lucky at Oakdene Care Home to have our own beautiful gardens, alongside our private patio area, which is accessible all year round and allows our residents to have a quiet outside space to socialise with each other and their loved ones, as well as a place to stretch their legs in the warmer months.

We’re fortunate here at Oakdene Care Home to already be situated in such a beautiful part of England and to have the stunning Dorset countryside as an incredible backdrop to our lovely gardens. At Oakdene Care Home, residents benefit from direct access to the garden, which then has both lawn and astroturf, a putting green, pathways, and seating.

Take Time Out to Enjoy Nature

When the weather is nice, we encourage our residents to get outside and soak up as much vitamin D as possible. Our Activity Coordinators plan a variety of activities in our garden, including gardening. Members can join the gardening club, which helps residents plant herbs in the herb garden, maintain the many plants and flowers across the property, and refill bird feeders. There is always something that can be done to help. We encourage our people to participate in outdoor activities for the sake of their health and social well-being.

Outdoor Activities Galore

Residents and staff at Oakdene Care Home always look forward to the summer months, as that means we can spend a lot more time outside in our gardens. We really do make every effort to take advantage of the dry, warm weather whenever possible, which is why we spend a lot of time organising outdoor tea parties, outside entertainment, and lots of opportunities to show off our resident’s green thumbs. We also like to make sure that everyone has the chance to get out onto our bowling green and show off their sporting skills.
