Care Home in Wimborne Minster

Oakdene Care Home offers a welcoming atmosphere that allows all of its residents to sit back, breathe in the fresh air, and relax. We encourage all of our residents to enjoy the local community and the Dorset countryside, and more importantly, really experience all that Wimborne Minster has to offer. Whatever the weather, we believe that Wimborne Minster is a place full of excitement and adventure, and a place with lots and lots to explore and discover.

Although the Activities Coordinators sometimes like to adventure a little further afield when it comes to ensuring our residents have fantastic days out, sometimes you can have some of the best times of your life right on your very own doorstep. For example, sometimes our team members organise exciting days out to Bournemouth beach in the warmer months. However, we find that some of the best days out are to the plethora of local garden centres, and live performances right in the middle of town. Five star care homes offer its residents a life full of abundance both within the home and the surrounding areas.

What’s brilliant about our location, and the location of Wimborne Minster is that it’s so close to a variety of other towns and cities. This means that if you happen to venture a little further out, you can easily do so. Whether you decide to drive or get public transport, our care homes Wimborne Minster ensure you’ll always be well connected and able to do the things you love.

What’s Local to Oakdene Care Home?

Here at Oakdene Care Home, we’re very fortunate to be surrounded by fantastic scenery and incredible views and popular locations that are enjoyed by residents, loved ones and visitors. Wimborne Minster is a historical market town situated in the heart of Dorset, and with so much beautiful countryside right on your doorstep, why wouldn’t you want to get out and about and explore the local sites that are exciting to visit come rain or shine.

Why not visit one of our many heritage sites that are scattered all about our town? Fondly described as “The Treasures of Wimborne”, this town is home to three incredible attractions that people of all ages can enjoy. Whether you want to take in the beautiful architecture of the Minster Church, the interesting and ever-changing exhibitions at Walford Mill Crafts, or the very small Model Town that’s guaranteed to leave a big impact, you’ll never run out of things to excite and amaze the entire family.

However, if history isn’t really your thing, there’s no need to panic. What’s fantastic about Wimborne Minster is that it’s also a market town, meaning there are lots and lots of opportunities for shopping, eating, and taking in a little bit of live entertainment every now and then. Whether the sun is shining down or the rain is hitting the cobbles, there are lots of bars and restaurants with both inside and outside seating options in the town centre, meaning no matter what, you’ll get to experience a different side of Wimborne.

Being a town that’s so surrounded by beautiful countryside areas, it would be a shame to miss out on a visit to Moors Valley Country Park. Whether you’re visiting solo or with your closest friends and family members, sometimes you just can’t beat an afternoon wandering around the forest and really taking the opportunity to be at one with nature. However, as with all of these exciting attractions in Wimborne Minster, we always recommend booking your tickets or entry slots in advance to guarantee that you don’t miss out on the fun.

FAQ’s

Here you can find the most frequently asked questions. We welcome you to head to our main FAQ page for further information or get in touch with our friendly team.

If your loved one has recently had physical trauma or sickness that needed a hospital stay, it is expected that they may find it difficult to return to their normal routine at home. This can be a tense and demanding situation, both physically and emotionally. However, there may be ways to alleviate the tension and worry, such as moving into a group living facility with around the clock support. At Oakdene Care Home, we mean it when we say that we are here to assist you every single step of the way.

The Care Quality Commission has recognised and reviewed Oakdene Care Home (CQC). Health and social care services must be safe, capable, considerate, and of high quality, according to the CQC, all of which Oakdene Care Home is proud to say they are.

Our excellent in-house culinary experts and kitchen staff cater to all dietary requirements, providing complete and nutritious breakfast, lunch, and tea buffet options for all of our residents. Residents can eat with their families and friends if they prefer, and they can choose to do so either from the comfort of their own rooms or in one of our three specialised dining rooms. It really is up to our residents, and what would make them feel happiest.

Depending on your circumstances, you may be eligible for support from local governments or the NHS. We urge you to get financial guidance before proceeding with your potential funding sources.

We encourage all of our residents to decorate their rooms; we really do enjoy seeing a resident’s room transform into a place they can truly call home, from hanging photos to adding little pieces of furniture. Of course, any major design or structural changes will need to be discussed with the Home Manager well in advance, and will of course need to be approved.
