Staff & Residents Hold Stall at Verwoods Vintage Fair

oakdene jubilee celebrations

Over the Jubilee weekend, staff and residents of Oakdene Care Home went down to the Verwood Vintage Fair where they held a stall and ran a tombola.

The fair took place at the Verwood Memorial Recreation Ground and saw many members of the local community gather together to not only enjoy the Jubilee-themed celebrations but also to get out in the sunshine and see what was on offer from other local businesses and people.

Throughout the day, we welcomed many people to our stall to tell them all about life at Oakdene Care Home and show them what we have to offer. We gave people mugs and pens to take away and encouraged them to take part in our tombola - which raised £238.55!

We understand that each of our residents has charities that are important to them and so we try our hardest when fundraising to give to as many of them as we can. In this instance, the money raised from our tombola will be donated to Verwood Rotary Club as requested by one of our residents, Terry.

We value our place in the Verwood & Three Legged Cross community and go to great lengths to involve ourselves and the residents in local life. We were delighted to be able to participate in this event and meet face-to-face again after the hurdles that have been presented to us over the last couple of years. We very much look forward to the next community event.
