Our Recent Refurbishment
Oakdene Care Home in Three Legged Cross is currently going under refurbishment, with several areas of the home being redecorated and refurnished.
The expansive refurbishment which is soon to be complete has included bedrooms, the library, communal areas such as the snug and dining room, as well as our staff room.
At Oakdene Care Home, the residents are at the heart of everything we do, which is why we continually invest in the improvement of our home. We want to ensure each and every resident feels safe, happy, and comfortable, and the environment in which they live plays a big part in that.
We want our residents to feel like they're right at home here, and we have worked hard to create an environment that feels warm and homely. This includes using warm colours and soft furnishings, as well as little touches like plants, photos, and tea sets.
Our dining room for instance features an exposed brickwork effect wall and wooden beams and has been furnished with wooden tables and grey plaid seat cushions. The dining room also has floor-to-ceiling windows that look out into the garden. Our dining room truly encompasses the beautiful nature and surroundings we have here at Oakdene.
The bedrooms, library, and snug have also been refurbished. This means our residents now have several areas within the home where they can escape to put their feet up and relax, either with a good book, their favourite TV programme, or just for some peace and quiet.
We invite residents to bring any of their own personal belongings and small items to help make their bedroom feel familiar. We however have completely furnished the rooms to include a bed, armchair, and vanity table. The rooms also feature soft furnishings such as curtains, cushions, and towels are provided too.
It is also important to us that our dedicated and compassionate members of staff also have their own space where they can get a drink and bite to eat and relax on their breaks. We have created our own staff room fitted with a microwave, coffee machine, and bar area, so no matter when our team members go for their break, they have the equipment they need to sit down and enjoy a meal or hot drink.
We understand that the better we support our staff members, the better support they can give to our residents, to who we strive to give the very best of everything.
