“A Painting Is Like A Poem Without Words”

resident art work

At Oakdene Care Home, Wimborne Minster, our residents have been keeping busy with some Arts & Crafts.

Ditching the conventional paintbrushes, we wanted to ensure residents were doing something different, engaging them with new techniques and styles. Residents used their own hands and sponges to create some beautiful works of art.

Residents had a wonderful time painting things that bring us joy such as flowers in bloom, or soaring birds, and proudly displaying these on the Oakdene arts wall as the first paintings of the year!

There are many benefits to arts and crafts. Studies have shown that expressing yourself through art can improve your mood, memory, reasoning and resilience. Due to this, our expert team ensure that there is a variety of fun activities to keep residents stimulated and engaged.

If you'd like to take a look at what other activities we put on for our residents, take a look at our activities programme and if you've got any questions about our care home, please get in touch with one of our team members today.
